When I first met Chris in college he knew how to put chicken tenders in the oven. On the night he proposed, he cooked spaghetti with just noodles and sauce (no meat) and that was a big deal. Since then he has learned so much in the kitchen. I love how much he has grown as a chef and I am here to help you ladies with these 5 easy steps.

1. Do the prepping for him.

Chris says he doesn’t know how to cut certain foods. I think he just doesn’t want to do it. If I want Chris to cook fajitas for dinner. I will cut the chicken, onions and peppers, put it all in a big ziplock bag in the fridge and text him directions. All he has to do is follow direction and the meal is ready when I get home from work.

2. Cook Together.

It started on Saturday mornings. I would say, “Hey Chris! Can you help with the eggs while I cook the pancakes?”. I made him get off the couch and help me. Then I asked him to cook the bacon the next Saturday. I was there to help him and monitor what he was doing. He even knows how to make pancakes now and it’s a homemade recipe.

3. Praise him!

Give him a lot of compliments. I would tell him how much I loved his eggs or how much I loved his bacon. One time I came home and saw him cutting up chicken on a wooden cutting board. I was so mad but I took it back really quick. I don’t want him to stop helping me in the kitchen. Remember ladies, one mean move and he will stop. I absolutely love when Chris gets out of his comfort zone and helps me in the kitchen.

4.Every man loves to grill.

Marinate the meat for him the night before. All Chris has to do is slap the meat on the grill while drinking a beer. Every man loves to grill and you have to admit it’s hard to really “mess” up. Cook a couple sides, have him grill the meat, and that’s an easy night for you.

5. Get Freshly Meals.

Make it really easy on him with these amazing gourmet pre-cooked meals by Freshly. My family is honestly hooked. They sent me 4 meals to my door for this collaboration and I would not promote anything I do not believe in. They were made with fresh and all natural ingredients. Below are pictures of a meal Chris cooked for us one night. He did it all on his own. So you man can do it too! He marinated the steak and I bought a bag a veggies already prepped. He wraps the veggies in aluminum foil, pokes a few holes in the foil, drizzles olive oil and cajun seasoning, and cooks them in the oven at 400F for 45 minutes. It is such an easy dinner for him to tackle. I hope you ladies can get your man in the kitchen.
